Cost Effective Heating

We believe that our electric radiators are the best that money can buy. Other companies make bold claims about their products but if you want the best you should choose Heat Electric for Cost Effective Heating.

Our radiators have everything that any good electric radiator should have; timer controls, air sensing thermostats and intelligent software to control and reduce your energy usage and bills. So, what makes our electric radiators so special? Well actually it’s lots of things but the main thing that makes them better than other electric heaters is what’s inside them.

Most of our competitors sell electric heaters that are filled with oil. Often it will be called a gel, or thermal-fluid but it’s still an oil. Our electric radiators are filled with water which makes all the difference.

Effectively it’s all about physics and the specific density of water compared with oil. To put it more simply water is “runnier” or “thinner” than oil.

If you filled a kettle with water from one of our radiators and filled an identical kettle with the oil found in other electric heaters and switched them both on what would happen? The one full of water will heat up much more quickly, will use less power and therefore cost less than the one filled with oil.

The exact same thing happens with our electric radiators compared to oil-filled electric heaters. Our radiators heat up more quickly and therefore heat up your room more quickly, but do so more cheaply than the competition. The water in our radiators will be at the maximum temperature within a matter of minutes meaning you aren’t wasting money waiting for an oil-filled electric heater to get the room up to temperature.

What is the Most Cost Effective Heating System?

Choosing a system for your home can be a difficult and complex process, made no easier by the wide range of options to choose from.

Heat Electric have been manufacturing and supplying high quality, cost effective heating systems for over a decade. They’re here to demystify the question of whether each option is truly cost effective heating, going through the pros and cons of each, to help you come to a decision.

Central heating

The most common system, this is where a central boiler heats water that is pumped to radiators throughout the house and which is also used for the kitchen and bathroom. Usually run on mains gas, it can also use oil, tank gas, coal, or wood.

Pros

Many houses are set up on this system so it can be an easy way of providing fairly cost effective heating simply by virtue of not having to replace an existing framework. The gas itself is cheap.

Cons

Not very environmentally friendly, central heating systems require regular servicing due to safety and environmental concerns associated with gas; plus, boilers are incredibly expensive to replace and require a fair amount of maintenance, making them not the most cost effective heating system around.

Storage heaters

Run on electricity, storage heaters are designed to be turned on at night and to store heat to be emitted during the day.

Pros

They’re fairly cheap to install.

Cons

Expensive to run, difficult to control, and emitting quite high levels of carbon dioxide, these are not a cost effective heating solution.

Modern electric heaters

Often used to replace storage heaters, these represent a big step forward in heating technology.

Pros

Electric heaters are easy to install, requiring no pipework, no maintenance or servicing, and no risk of environmental or safety issues. They have great life-long efficiency, making them a perfect form of cost effective heating.

Cons

Due to the technological advancement of the heaters, they require a fairly significant initial outlay which is nevertheless neutralised over time.
